About CheckHut

CheckHut is a set of free tests for the devices you use every day: your microphone, speakers, headphones, webcam, keyboard and mouse. Each test answers one question quickly (does it work, and how well) and explains how to fix it when it doesn't.

How the tests work

The tests use the audio and video features built into your web browser. Sound from your microphone and video from your camera are analysed on your own device, to draw the level meter and to check the picture. They aren't sent to us or anyone else, and there's no account to create.

The site is funded by ads. They pay for the hosting and keep the tests free.
